What is a contents page?
A contents page is place on the first page inside a magazine or newspaper (a document which needs to be navigated around) which will help navigation around the document. Can also highlight any recommended pages.
Common features of a contents page:
Dateline: A date line is where the date of the magazine is placed, usually associated with the price and could be written here together.
Subheading: A subheading is another, less important, title which separates the text into different categories. This would be written I a larger font but not as large as the main masthead.
Masthead: The masthead on the contents page would be the title of the magazine repeated again onto this page Occasionally 'contents' is written to specify which page it is.
Colour scheme: A colour scheme is set colours that stay consistent through out making it more professional.
Rough Time plan for creating my contents page:
Lesson 1:
In lesson 1, I aim to plan my double page spread, I will do this by firstly making a mind map followed by flat plans of the designs.
I will do this by Lesson 2: In lesson 2, I will begin to use InDesign placing different mast head versions and cover lines into the workspace, inserting them onto a clean document. I will also make a shooting script, to plan the photos i will be taking before next lesson.
Before lesson 3: I will need to take all my photos ready to insert on lessons 3.
Lesson 3: Place the masthead and cover lines on to my document with the photos.

Contents page initial Ideas:
Flat plans:
I have created some rough flat plan designs before I began to create it.
The first flat plan is a more of a first thoughts, where as the second is more realistic to what my final contents page will look like.
I have chosen to use subtitles to separate the contents page into different sections such as:
- best reads
- trend favourites
- this month
In my second flat plan I thought of the idea of using a capture of the front cover and then writing around it which page each of the different plugs will be on.
Proposal
In my contents page the content will be about what will be on each page of the magazine. Which will all be separated in to different subheadings depending on what was on that page. The page will still stay consistent with the country pop genre and any decisions will be related around this.
The images I will use will be photographs I have taken of my artist from a photo shoot as well as others of different models. I will use a similar photo from the one on the front cover when showing which page my double page spread will be on, so the audience can associate them together. The other photos will have a music theme relation to them, trying to stick with all the photos being of people who are similar to the target audience.
In relation to the target audience, my models will be a similar age to the aimed audience group so that they will be able to relate. It will also be focused on the genre of the magazine.
My contents page will continue on the colour scheme that was shown on the front cover so that the theme continues on throughout the magazine making it more professional looking. I will make sure the contents page has quite a few pictures on so that it isn't clogged up with text making It pleasing to the eye.

On Reflection
When looking back there are many changes i feel like i need to make for example:
Photographs ( Quality of photos, relevance to topic)
Text ( clearness, size, colours )
New photography
